TrackRun is an event designed by Athletics NSW and RunNSW. It is for people of all ages and abilities who would like to try running on the track. This Dubbo TrackRun will feature 800M and a 3KM distances. Dubbo TrackRub will take place at Barden Park on the 15th of December from 6pm.

What is TRACKrun?

This event, put on by Athletics NSW & Run NSW, is designed for people of all abilities to try running on the track; 800M and 3KM distances.

TRACKrun will feature graded races based on your entry time. This is because a 400m track will comfortably handle 40 or 50 runners at a time and it works better if all runners in a race are of similar ability.

Entries

For Dubbo TrackRun, entries and registrations will occur on the day of the event. Simply rock up to Barken Park at 6pm, register and you are all set to go.

PLEASE NOTE: Runners will be seeded according to the time they enter when registering. Start waves will be seeded so the fastest run will be last.

Dubbo TrackRun

Would you like the opportunity to run and even race on the tremendous athletics track we have in Dubbo? Would you like to race with runners of similar ability and not against the ‘whippets’? Whippets, would you like to race against other runners at your pace.

Well you can. We use a grading system based on parkrun time.

Grading; based on best parkrun this year;

  • A under 25 minutes,
  • B between 25 and 35 minutes,
  • C over 35 minutes.

If you have not done a parkrun (5 km), you are still welcome to run. There is a shorter event, 800m and a longer one, 3000m. If you do not know your pace, then it is possible that grade C might be the one for you. If you are an experienced runner, then you will know how fast you can run 5 km and therefore can select a suitable grade.

Below is the agenda for the evening. We are hoping to finish by 7.30 pm with awards and presentations. The awards for first place getters will be sponsored by Activate Running Coaching and will consist of a running form assessment (including video analysis) and a 12 week training plan to kick start your 2017 running year.

  • 6.00 pm Arrive and register
  • 6.15 pm 800 m Grade C
  • 6.20 pm 800 m Grade B
  • 6.25 pm 800 m Grade A
  • 6.30 pm 3000 m Grade C
  • 6.45 pm 3000 m Grade B (starting B before all of C finish)
  • 7.00 pm 3000 m Grade A (starting A before all of B finish)
  • 7.15 pm Finish and award presentations for the three grades of each race

Looking forward to seeing as many runners as possible to finish of the running year with a burst of energy.
