An Idyllic Setting for a Late Autumn Fun Run
4km Fun Run Course
All races start at the top of Scenic Drive inside the Nowra Showground. The course begins with a downhill spectacular section along Scenic Drive and exits Scenic Dr onto the riverside path. The path heads underneath the Pacific Highway (the 2km course turn is opposite Mandalay Ave on Scenic Drive) then continues to follow the river on the top of the levee bank. The 4km turn will be along the path travelling parallel to the river. Participants shall return via the same route on the opposite side of the path and road. Upon entering the Nowra Showground participants shall turn left onto the Showground Added Area and completes the 100m to the finish line.
8km Fun Run Course
The 8km course continues past the 4km turnaround point to the end of the path as it enters Ferry Lane. After taking in the full length of Ferry lane there is a left hand turn onto Terara Rd which is flat and fast continuing east through a semi rural setting. The 8km turn around point is approximately 1km down Terara Rd. The course returns along the same route running on the opposite side of the road and finishing inside the Nowra Showground ‘Added Area’.

What happens at the Start?
The start line will be at the top of Scenic Dr inside the Nowra Showground. Runners will be asked to assemble at the start line around 10 minutes before their race. There will be no seeding groups on the start line so we ask that all runners use common sense to self seed themselves. This means faster runners start at the front, moderate runners in the middle and slower runners/walkers at the back.
Any prams should also start at the back. There will be a few brief words and a nice little gee up from a ‘special guest’ before we send you on your way.
Where are the drink stations?
There will be one drink station on the Greater 4km course (approx. 2k) and three drink stations on the 8km course (approx. 2k, 4k, 6k).
At the finish you will be provided with a final drink station which will have water and fruit.
Are there km distance markers?
Every km will be marked accurately and identified as either 4k or 8k distance markers.
Where are the toilets?
Multiple men’s and women’s toilet blocks will be available within the Nowra Showground. These will be clearly marked on the day.
Is there parking?
Plenty of Parking will be available surrounding and within the Nowra Showground. Parking attendants will not allow parking on the course however so please allow parking attendants to direct you on the day.
Can my club or school set up a tent?
Yes! Clubs/schools are invited to set up their club tents on Harrison Park. Please email firstname.lastname@example.org to book a position for your tent.
The finish is quite exciting for both participants and spectators. Both the Greater 4km and the 8km will share the same finish line. Smile and enjoy your moment as you cross the finish line! You must also ensure that you cross the blue finish mats with your timing chip attached to your shoes. Do not slow down until after you cross the mats.
Post Event Area
After the finish volunteers will direct you to the post event recovery area where water, sports drink and fruit will be available. Your timing chip will also be collected in this area and placed in the buckets provided. Do not leave with your timing chip.
How can I view my official result?
Runners will be able to see their result on the main score board as soon as they cross the finish line! Live results will also be found via the ANSW live results page: http://www.nswathletics.info/liveresults/
This link will also be active on this website.
These will be listed as cumulative times for the fastest 4 runners in your team. Compiled team results shall appear on the website in the above link.
What Presentations will be held on the day?
Medal presentations will happen as per timetable below:
9:30am: 8km winners
9:40am: Greater 4km winners
9:45am: Children’s 2km winners
What are the prizes and prize categories?
