A blog post from Charlie Maher, former IMP Member and Clontarf Academy Coach

Charlie is the mentor and coach of 7 boys who will be taking part of the Greater Dubbo Fun Run this Sunday. Charlie will be absent on Ambassador duties for the Indigenous Marathon Project but his boys will be tearing up the streets of Dubbo and Barden Park.
“Hi All, I hope you are well. Just wanted to share a photo of the Clontarf boys from the Dubbo Clontarf Academies that are looking forward to participate in the Dubbo Fun Run 8km & 4km race this Sunday. In the last 4 weeks the boys & a few others have been training consistently every Tuesday morning at 7am before school starts on the athletics track. It’s fantastic that they can have access to train on such a quality running track & I’d just like to specially thank The Indigenous Marathon Foundation, Scott Westcott (Athletics NSW), Murray Wood (Dubbo City Council) & Viv (Shoes from Planet Earth) for providing all the boys & others with running shoes to train for events like this. Unfortunately I’ll be away in Canberra to run the half marathon on the same morning but I know the boys will enjoy the run as I’m really thankful of the support from everyone that I’ve mentioned.

Run, Sweat & Inspire 😊
