ENTRIES for the Casino Fun Run are flowing in and people around the area are training for the day.

Trainer Kellie Handford, of Bodyworx Fitness, said she hoped for a team of about 15 people to tackle the 10km and 5km tracks.
“I have a couple of my clients who will enter the 10km run but most will probably do the 5km run,” she said.
“(The Casino Fun Run) is great for promoting health in Casino as it leaves a healthier imprint on our town.”
Ms Handford said many of the team were mums and ordinary people who wanted to do better for themselves.
“A lot of the people entering have kids and they want to be a good example for them,” she said.
“I love working at making fitness normal as it shouldn’t be seen as too hard or unachievable.”
Ms Handford said her team was training two to three times a week.
Having been a trainer for nine years, Ms Handford said her clients were of all ages, with an average age of 50.
“I have a group of veterans in Kyogle who are around 60 and they are great to train,” she said.
“Then I have a group of older ladies, which my mum is a part of, and they do light to moderate workouts.”
Ms Handford sees the Casino Fun Run as being for all ages and all levels of fitness.
